7 Things We Learnt About Narendra Modi Only In His Second Year As PM

Despite being all over the media all the time, the real Narendra Modi has always remained something of an enigma. His childhood, marriage, education, time away from home, his early years in politics - they have all been a matter of curiosity and mystery for years.
Of course, in the run up to the general elections and in his first year as PM, we got to know the man better: We learnt he belongs to the Ghanchi caste (OBC ategory), is still married to Jashodaben, lived 30 years away from his family and once wanted to renounce the world, among other things.
The second year of his stint as the prime minister revealed even more interesting facts, some brought to light by intruding RTIs and others, well, after a bit of political drama

  • That Modi's chest measures 50 inches

A good six-inches short of his famous claim of a ‘Chhappan Inch Ki Chhati’
This was given away by the PMO office when asked for Modi's measurements so an Achkan his size could me made. Modi wore the Achkan for the convocation ceremony at Lucknow's Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University as a chief guest.

  • That he never took a day off after becoming PM

At least till December, that is. He was "on duty" all the time
Source: PTi
Since assuming the PM's charge on May 26, 2014, Modi has taken no leave. This was in response to an RTI inquiry that wanted to know about the leaves availed by all the prime ministers in the past 10 years, but the PMO office revealed only Modi's.

  • That he foots his own grocery bills at 7 Race Course Road

This RTI response also revealed that he loves bajra roti and khichdi
“It is stated that the kitchen expenses of the Prime Minister is personal in nature and not incurred on the government account,” the PMO reply said to an inquiry asking who pays for his grocery at PM's official residence in Delhi.

  • That he didn't sweep the floor while in the RSS

Humble background he may have had, but not so much
Again revealed through RTI. Modi's followers widely shared this photo (on the right) on the social media to highlight his humble beginnings, how he's always put his ideals before politics and in general was a pretty awesome guy well before he became the nation's prime minister. But a reply to an RTI application filed in Ahmedabad showed it was just another case of Photoshop being used where it wasn't really necessary.

  • That he catches up on sleep in flights to save time & money

And avoids checking into hotels if he can
Err, sometimes in the parliament too / Youtube
As per an Economic Times report, for his March 30-April 2 tour of Belgium, US and Saudi Arabia, he spent three nights on the plane and two nights in the hotel. "It is unprecedented to complete a PM's multi-nation trip involving US in just 97 hours. If the PM had not chosen to sleep on the plane, we would not have been back for at least six days," an official told ET.

  • That he browses the interest at a privileged 34Mbps in his office

When lesser mortals get at most 14Mbps
Source: www.narendramodi.in
The RTI was filed by Vinoth Ranganathan, co-founder of onlinerti.com, who learnt that the National Informatics Centre providing an average of 34Mbps speed to the PMO office. Just for perspective, South Korea has the maximum average internet speed at 24.6Mbps.

  • That he scored 62.3% in his MA from Gujarat University

And his subject was 'Entire Political Science'
Modi at the 42nd convocation of AIIMS
What multiple RTIs couldn't do, Arvind Kejriwal's letter to the Central Information Commission did. The degrees public domain, and we learnt that he scored this in his MA. Also that he graduated from Delhi University in 1978 and completed his post-graduation from Gujarat University in 1983.
Not everybody has accepted the degrees as authentic though.

We Bet You Don’t Know The Reason Why Keyboard’s ‘F’ And ‘J’ Keys Have Raised Ridges!

Did you ever look at the keyboard and thought why ‘J’ and ‘F’ keys have raised bumps on them? Sometimes, the same is seen in case of ‘5’ key too. Don’t worry, it is not any kind of production defect, but in fact this is by design.
f

It is basically for ease of use!

For using this keyboard with ease, the keys have ridges, so that speed typing is possible, without having a look at the keyboard. These ridges help in positioning the fingers. They enable you to have a correct typing position and since the ridges are there on these 2 keys, the index fingers are placed on them.

Know the positioning

keyboard-finger
If the left index finger is positioned on the ‘F’ Key and if the right index finger is positioned on ‘J’ key, then other 3 fingers of left hand can rest on ‘A’, ‘S’ and ‘D’ and others can rest on ‘colon key’, ‘L’ and ‘K’. Both the thumbs must rest on space bar.
These improvements came in after June E Botich filed a patent in the year 2002. After this, all the keyboards came in with the same arrangement.

3 IDIOTS SEQUEL

This movie of 2009 was an awesome one! Yes, we are talking about 3 Idiots starring Sharman Joshi, R Madhavan and Aamir Khan, who wooed the audiences with their stellar performances.
Now, there is a good news for the fans of 3 Idiots. The director has plans of releasing a sequel for this movie. Yes, Sharman Joshi gave a confirmation to the media during the promotion of 1920: London, his upcoming movie.
309969266
While speaking with media, Sharma stated that Rajkumar Hirani has plans of working on the sequel of 3 idiots. He is just waiting to get things right, in order to start work.
Even Hirani had given a slight confirmation about 3 Idiots and stated that initially he had plans of making PK 2, but now, there is no subject for the movie. Talking about 3 Idiots sequel, he states that he and Abhijat have a great idea, but it is yet to be developed. He says that it would take some time for it.

This confirmation by Hirani and Sharman is making us very eager. You too must be excited after hearing this, isn’t it?

Here’s Why Your Downloading Speed Is Always Lesser Than What Your Service Provider Promises.!!

Internet connection is a must for every household today. It is worth saying that – in today’s generation a person can live without food but can’t survive without a smart phone and obviously the internet connection. It has become so important that we carefully choose the pack and pay for the desired pack from the Internet Service Provider (ISP).
But have you ever wondered or checked why your downloading speed is always lesser than what your ISP promises? Actually it is myth that our speed is always lesser than what our ISP promises. Confused?

Smart marketing strategy of Internet Service Providers

The Internet Service Provider (ISP) always lures people by their marketing strategy so as to buy their service. In other words ISP always gives you the speed in terms of Bits per second but when downloading a file from internet, the downloading speed will be shown in Bytes per second. This leads to so much confusion in the mind of a common man and he thinks I have been cheated.

To make it simple we will take an example:

Let us consider that your ISP has promised a download speed of 2 Mbps, it means they provide you 2 Mega bits per second but not 2 Mega Bytes per second.
Now coming to the conversion of bits into bytes,  1 Byte = 8 bits i.e divide by 8 to convert bits into bytes.

2 Mega bits per second = 2 Mbps / 8 = 2048 Kbps / 8 = 256 Kilo Bytes per second (KBps) So the actual download speed you get is just 256 KBps (which is equivalent to 2 Mbps) but not 2 MBps.
So don’t be confused about your download speed next time and don’t forget to share your views in the comments section below.

5 IPL Records Which Didn’t Break Since It’s First Edition.!!

Indian Premier League popularly known as IPL was started in 2008 by Lalit Modi, ex-member of BCCI. IPL is played every year in the month of April-May. It ranks #5 when it comes to average attendance across all sporting events. Currently, the 9th edition of the league is underway. IPL is known for many records since it’s inception in 2008.
So, here presenting you 5 records which were set in the first edition of IPL but didn’t break till date.

1. Most extras in an innings – 28 by Deccan Chargers

It took place in the match between Deccan Chargers and Kolkata Knight Riders on April 20, 2008. In the first innings, KKR bowled Deccan Chargers out for a modest total of 110 runs. However, the Chargers couldn’t defend the below par score as their bowlers gave away 28 free runs (extras) which consist of 15 wides, 8 leg byes, 4 byes and a no-ball. In 2011, Royal Challengers were on the verge of breaking this record as they conceded 27 extras against Kings XI Punjab.

2. Largest victory margin –  140 runs by Kolkata Knight Riders

This took place in the very first match of the Indian Premier League between KKR and RCB in Chinnaswamy Stadium at Bangalore. This match is well-known for the blistering knock of 158* runs by Brendon McCullum. KKR batted first and set a huge target of 223 runs for RCB and then bowled them out for just 82 runs thereby registering a 140 run record victory. The top scorer for RCB in this match was by extras (19).

3. Lowest match aggregate – 135

This took place in the match between Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders on 16th May 2008, at Wankhade Stadium, Mumbai. Mumbai bowlers collectively fired against the KKR and bundled them up for record lowest IPL total (at that time) of 67 runs in 15.2 overs. Sanath Jayasuriya set the chase on fire as he completed the chase in just 33 balls (5.3 overs) with an unbeaten 48 off 17 balls. With Mumbai’s 68 runs and Kolkata 67 runs, this match holds the record for the lowest match aggregate in IPL.

4. Best bowling figures in an innings – 6/14 by Sohail Tanvir

Rajasthan team was considered the weakest team of IPL 1 despite having some world-class bowlers like Sohail Tanvir and Shane Warne. This took place in the match between Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings on 4th May 2008, in Jaipur. Sohail Tanvir picked 6 wickets for just 14 runs against CSK thereby creating a new record in IPL. Tanvir is still the only bowler to pick a 6-wicket haul in IPL. The next best bowling figure is 5/5 by Anil Kumble for RCB against Rajasthan in IPL 2. Sohail Tanvir was the highest wicket taker for the first season with 22 wickets.

5. Most catches in an innings by a fielder – 4 catches by Sachin Tendulkar

This took place in the same match where the above record of lowest match aggregate was set between Mumbai and Kolkata. Sachin Tendulkar set a record in IPL which still holds after 8 successful seasons of the tournament and it is nothing to do with his batting. Yes, Sachin took 4 catches to dismiss the KKR batsmen – Salman Butt, Shoaib Akthar, Wriddhiman Saha and Ajit Agarkar. This record was later matched by David Warner for Delhi Daredevils in 2010 and Jacques Kallis for Kolkata Knight Riders in 2011 but no one surpassed it yet.
